According to a report by New World Wealth Africa now has more than 160,000 individuals with a wealth of over $1m with a combined net worth of $660bn at the end of 2014. The total number of wealthy individuals with over $1m has doubled since 2000 and the number is forecast to reach 234,000 by 2024, which is an increase of 45% on the current figures.
