Failed deliveries to cost firms £473m
2nd September 2014
Failed deliveries could potentially cost UK retailers a total of £473 million in 2014, according to a new report.

IMRG's Valuing Delivery Review also stated that this forecast rises to £771 million if Marketplace deliveries are taken into account. The report highlights six possible delivery failure scenarios, including failed deliveries resulting in collections by customers, late deliveries, and lost orders resulting in a loss of customer goodwill.

IMRG advises that firms fully engage with their customers in the delivery process, offering them informed decisions about the service they require and then co-operate with the delivery company to ensure products are in the right place at the right time.
