Employees making false expenses claims
1st September 2014
One in four employees admit to making false expenses claims, potentially claiming back more from their company than is necessary, according to a new report.

The Webexpenses research, surveying 1,000 UK office workers, found that one in five employees that did make false claims didn't feel guilty about breaking rules. Additionally, a quarter of workers stated that the longer they stayed with a company, the more likely it was that they would make false claims.

The survey also highlighted the lack of action taken by firms to combat this problem. Almost half of respondents claimed that their employer did not use computer software to manage expenses, with 70 per cent stating that claims had never been rejected or queried by their employer.
Are you checking employees' expenses claims to avoid paying out more than is necessary?
